The Student Wellness Ambassador Team (SWAT) promotes healthy behaviors and lifestyles to Illinois State University students through a variety of outreach programs. SWAT members are Illinois State University student volunteers from diverse backgrounds and majors. They are trained by Health Promotion and Wellness staff to act as credible resources for fellow students regarding a variety of issues related to overall well-being. The SWAT members facilitate interactive and educational workshops, assist with campus and community outreach projects, and staff the portable wellness gazebo, the " G Spot ". SWAT members attend a weekend training retreat each semester and weekly training sessions during the fall and/or spring semesters to develop knowledge on health issues. Greek chapters, residence halls, and academic classrooms are some of the audiences who host these education-based programs.
