Students Ending Rape Culture

Students Ending Rape Culture (SERC) is a registered student organization with an emphasis on leading initiatives that educate the campus community about sexual violence, raise visibility of rape culture, and support and empower survivors of interpersonal violence

Help us Create a Culture of Consent!

SERC works with other campus and community organizations to equip the campus community with the knowledge and tools necessary to recognize and interrupt situations which perpetuate rape culture (i.e., a culture where sexual violence is normalized, trivialized, and rationalized).

SERC and Health Promotion and Wellness coordinate awareness events: Consent Day , Clothesline Project, Denim Day, and Day of Silence throughout the year. Visit Students Ending Rape Culture - Redbird Life (illinoisstate.edu) for further details.

Actions

  • Support and empower survivors of sexual violence and other forms of trauma
  • Raise awareness, and discredit myths and misinformation
  • Challenge the root causes of violence embedded in our culture

If you need an accommodation to fully participate in this event, please contact Health Promotion and Wellness at Wellness@IllinoisState.edu or (309) 438-WELL (9355). Please allow sufficient time to arrange the accommodation.
