Mindfulness
Mindfulness is about paying attention to your present-moment experience without judgment. Meditation is a powerful practice for cultivating mindfulness. Instead of trying to stop thoughts or feelings, mindfulness helps us become aware of them and let them go, refocusing on the present moment without labeling experiences as good or bad.
Mindfulness meditation doesn't change life. Life remains as fragile and unpredictable as ever. Meditation changes the heart's capacity to accept life as it is." - Sylvia Boorstein
Mindfulness Programs
In our mindfulness courses for ISU faculty, staff, students, and retirees, you'll learn and practice evidence-based techniques from the Mindfulness Institute for Emerging Adults (MIEA). These can help improve sleep, reduce stress and anxiety, enhance focus and academic performance, and promote better eating habits, ultimately contributing to greater well-being and happiness. Registration is required.
