Welcome Baby Gift

Congratulations on expanding your family! 

Health Promotion and Wellness also has a special Welcome Baby gift for expectant/new parents. Stop by McCormick 187 during office hours of Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to request. Welcome Baby gifts can also be delivered on campus. Please call (309) 438-9355 for more information.

Lactation Spaces Available

Health Promotion and Wellness is working with Facilities Planning and Design to identify lactation rooms in various areas on campus. Lactation spaces are accessible and comfortable places for employees, students, and visitors to privately express breast milk for their infants. The follow spaces are available:

  • Alumni Center 108 - Stop by the welcome desk to request the key for the space.
  • Bone Student Center - Stop by the Larry and Marlene Dietz Welcome desk on the first floor to be shown to the space.
  • College Place Uptown: Room 231 - Contact Health Promotion and Wellness at (309)438-WELL(9355) or wellness@ilstu.edu to reserve the key.
  • DeGarmo 330A: Stop by the EAF office to request to use the space.
  • McCormick 156:Contact Health Promotion and Wellness at (309)438-WELL(9355) or wellness@ilstu.edu to reserve the key.
  • Milner Library 425B: Stop by the second floor circulation desk to request the key for the space.
  • Multicultural Center: Request to use the Alva V. Samuels Family Room upon entering the Multicultural Center.
  • Schroeder 362: Contact Health Promotion and Wellness at (309)438-WELL(9355) or wellness@ilstu.edu to reserve the key.
  • Williams Hall 310 - Visit Student Affairs Office Williams 301 to request the key between 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
  • Hovey Hall 408: This space is on the Outlook calendar. Invite Hovey 408 to a meeting at the time you'd like to reserve the space, and the time will be approved if available. Support for Nursing Mothers

Support for Nursing Mothers sessions discuss Illinois breastfeeding laws, Illinois State University policy, and explore how to successfully return to campus as a breastfeeding mom. There is no charge for these sessions and they're open to ISU faculty, staff, spouses/partners, and students. Facilitated by Trish Wierenga, a certified lactation consultant.
