Healthy Campus Initiative
The Healthy Campus initiative, guided by the American College Health Association (ACHA), supports Illinois State University's (ISU) goal of becoming a Health Promoting University.
Inspired by the ACHA Healthy Campus Framework, the Okanagan Charter , and the Collective Impact Framework, ISU views well-being as a shared campus responsibility. This holistic approach prioritizes the well-being of students, staff, and faculty, emphasizing the role of the built environment and fostering a culture of wellness beyond traditional healthcare interventions.
Collaborative efforts across student affairs, academics, and administration focus on creating healthier environments. Guided by data from the National College Health Assessment and Faculty/Staff Health Assessment surveys, ISU develops initiatives to meet well-being objectives and support the campus community.
The Healthy Campus Initiative previously outlined objectives for students, staff, and faculty, offering goals for campuses to enhance health and well-being. Here’s an overview of how Illinois State University collaborates to support these initiatives.
